3 Tricks to Make Healthy Eating Easier

If you're trying to take control of your eating habits, you know it can be a challenge. A hectic schedule, little time to cook, and even certain food allergies and intolerances can present obstacles when it comes to consuming a balanced diet. Luckily, there are some healthy eating tricks you can start using today to make it easier to eat foods that will benefit your body.

1.Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and if you make sure your morning meal is filled with protein, you'll be less hungry throughout the day. This means you're less likely to reach for snacks that are filled with sugar and fat, and find that your concentration and mood are better as well. Foods like eggs, lean meats and smoothies made from ingredients like banana or flax seed can help you get a great start to the day. Try to include at least 30 grams of protein in your breakfasts to reduce hunger pains between breakfast and lunch.

2. You can also pack your own snacks so that when you have the urge to eat, you'll have access to something that's actually good for you. Each night, pack small bags of foods like almonds, fresh fruit or protein bars so you won't get "hangry" during work or school and you'll have the brain power you need to accomplish the day's tasks while still maintaining a healthy diet.

3. Plan your meals ahead of time as much as possible, and be sure to include at least one vegetable with every meal. Choose your favorite veggies so you'll be motivated to eat them, and pair it with the protein of your choice and a healthy carb to make your meal especially filling. For instance, steamed broccoli seasoned with sea salt and fresh herbs, baked chicken and quinoa is a complete meal for lunch or dinner. You won't feel weighed down after eating, and you'll be reducing your sugar and unhealthy fat consumption.

Once you stick to these healthy eating tricks for a week or two, you'll find that it becomes easier to eat foods that are good for you, and you'll start to see a difference in your energy levels and overall wellbeing.
